How to buy Ceramic Daytona?
Discussion
My local AD won't even put me on their waiting list!
Don't fancy paying over retail...
I was told that the best chance i have is to randomly find one at an airport as they do not operate waiting lists.
Does anyone here know of a way to potentially get one at retail this year?
Is there some kind of "watch broker" who can ring around contacts/ADs to get one?
I'd also like the 50th anniversary sea dweller but same issue!

Sadly I think that you have little to no chance of finding one for retail price. Rare to come up for sale and the only one that I have seen for a while was on TZ forum yesterday. To give you an indication it was new and unworn, stainless and priced at 13k. It sold in within 22 minutes of listing, as you know retail is 9k, such is the pull of that model at present.
Seems there's quite a premium on these, however they are bloody lovely.

Unfortunately I think the only way of getting these is if you are VERY regular customer and OFTEN buy expensive but not particularly popular watches!
Basically you help them shift expensive stuff that isn`t that easy to shift and eventually you get "pay back"
I`ve heard lots of stories about people buying stuff that they don`t want and then sell on at a loss in order to get a Daytona because it works out cheaper than the grey premium!

I agree with the post about being a regular customer of your AD, without a track record of Tudor and Rolex and having a relationship you will struggle. Rolex are supposedly clamping down on regular customers flipping as well, once you do it, you won't get another watch. They are also holding onto papers to stop this.

I did give it a try, called them yesterday and they said 4 year waiting list and won't take new customers at this point!

Are you 100% certain about papers being withheld??Andy OH said:

Some retailers will insist on keeping the warranty card for 6 months, and removing all the protective stickers before handing the watch over. The idea is to curb flippers from selling the watch BNIB immediately after purchasebobbybee said:
