Hi,

Watch went in for service and polish in June £350. Came back and stopped working same day (and wouldn't start again). Took it back got it back 'fixed' same happened, took it back got it back 'fixed' same happened. Got it back on Wednesday with a new 'part' fitted. Claimed it had been on 'test' a week and had worked perfectly. It had stopped in the shop but they said that was because they hadn't checked it since the weekend and it had stopped on the 11th.

Watch worked that afternoon / evening. It stopped at 4.20am Thursday. I wound it Thursday morning and wore it all day. Its stopped at 4.10am.

The jeweller is refusing a refund saying the watch is under guarantee so keep taking it back. I'm not prepared to take it back yet again and be without the watch it's been nearly three months. The jeweller is sending to a third party 'who is approved by Omega' for the repair. The jeweller I have used for years and he has been very good n other things so this is a real disappointment.

So, its probably going to go small claims. Can I send to another repairer and bill the jeweller or do I have to get the money back from the jeweller and claim the difference if any from another repairer? The breakdown was £200 for service and £150 for the polish.

Thanks

Vron

It was cash but I have the receipt.

I have spoken to the jeweller today and said I was sending the watch direct to Omega and sending him the invoice. He has asked if he can have the watch and send it to Omega himself as this will be less expensive than me sending it as a retail customer. I have insisted it goes there and not back to whoever has messed it up and he has agreed. So, now he has the watch again.

I have told him this is his last chance and although he is blaming the third party he has had the watch since June and if it doesn't come back working this time it will be small claims.
