I've got it in my head that I need a watch with a blue dial on a strap.

These catch my eye. Any other suggestions welcome.

FP Journe Chronomètre Bleu. I'm surprised that no-one has suggested this yet, as it's even got blue in its name. smile

Angelus U50 Diver Tourbillon. OK, it's only got a partial dial...

Fiona Kruger Petit Skull Blue.

A Lange & Söhne Saxonia Thin Copper Blue.

There must be something in the water, because Glashütte Original offers some stunning blue dials. This is the Sixties, though the current model looks a bit different.

Cartier Ballon Bleu Flying Tourbillon, for when you truly have to blow the budget...

Yes I am not sure why I want a blue dial watch but I do.

Current favourites are the Parmigiani in my first post or a Datejust of some sort, though I don’t think they are available on a strap. I don’t want the cost of the weight of a Day Date, though they do look good.

It's really easy to buy a quality strap and put it on a Datejust.
Sure. The only negative with the DJ is is a bit shiny both in the metal and dial.

Not sure what the budget is but my mate has a H Moser with a blue dial. Very simple and great depth to a dial that looks so simple at first glance. Possible the best I have seen on a watch at any price.
Like this?

I think it looks bland without something going on dial-wise. I also like a date on a watch for day-to-day use.

Wandering past my local Goldsmiths and what should they have second hand?

In the case it looked great, in the photo it probably looks good, on the wrist it looked a bit feminine. I think the colour and size combo did it. So a 36mm Rolex is out, despite my liking the 36mm datejust on a bracelet.

Yes.

As I said, that doesn't come across in the photo, but it did exude a slightly feminine look. The photo makes the head of the watch look big and the strap in proportion. In the flesh, the watch looked slightly small and the strap slightly narrow. Navy blue can be quite a feminine colour, and that emphasised the feel. As did the Arabic numerals.

The 36mm Datejust, with batons, on a bracelet is in my opinion a better balanced watch and one of my all time favourites.

A nice looking thing, but quite lumpy aren't they? 43mm?

Agree that it is a personal thing. You either love it on your wrist or you don’t. But I’d happily wear that.
I probably would too if it looked like that on the wrist. But the camera deceives there and it doesn't look quite so beefy in the flesh.

I like that. How much out of interest?
£9750 or there abouts. I's white gold.

They will negotiate though I imagine,
