I've had various watches over the years which I've moved on within the space of 6 months.

I've recently really been craving a Speedy moon watch, since I originally seen this watch a few years ago the price has increased a fair amount! Now I'm a bit maturer I can really appreciate the design and provenance of this piece and the presentation pack it comes in is really quite impressive too.

There are a few new examples on eBay but I have some concerns around face to face transactions involving £2.5k upwards=, has anyone bought a premium watch this war before?

Alternatively, What sort of discounts can I expect on the high street?

Anyone with speedy's wanting to share pics to bate me into taking the plunge??

I got my new 2016 model (I think) from ebay, paid on a credit card through paypal for maximum protection, I paid just over £2600 iirc. I took it straight to a jewellers that sells them where they confirmed it was either original or the faker had gone to very extreme lengths (too much for a £3k watch) to make it seem so. They said the only way to be 100% certain was to strip it down so I am happy that it's original. Things like sequential part numbers on it and all the cool goodies related to the moonwatch.
That's a decent price, about where the eBay ones seem pitched at the moment and there's one only a few miles up the road from me. Most insisting on bank transfer before collection or cash and that's where it gets a little awkward.

The one thing I'm 100% certain of is spotting fakes in these watches as they're well known for shocking subdial spacing due to not being able to replicate the movement :-) First thing I started googling last night, the fakes look shocking!

Any pics??

That looks lovely, I'm completely sold on the idea now.
