Mrs 595H has a significant birthday this year, and has said she really wants a Rolex, to go with her Omega she’s had a for a few years. I can’t really say no, as I’m about to buy a new toy for me!

So... a few questions if I may.

Do ladies Rolex hold their value?
Where is the best place to buy? I’m really talking about whether there are discounts to be had!
Any particular model to avoid?
Second hand - good idea or not?

Thanks.

Looks like she wants a 34mm Oyster Perpetual with a white face, and wants a new one. I guess the only question now is whether there is a chance of a discount anywhere. Not due to fly anywhere soon, so needs to be a UK outlet...

I guess the answer to the first question is... who cares its a present and she wants one
Also, the answer to question four should refer to the start of the answer to question one..... would you want a second hand present

You either buy her what she wants or you don't everything else is irrelevant. If you don't buy it then you deal with the consequences
Thanks - that was the conclusion I was coming to as well! I was just a bit intrigued as I don't really remember seeing much about ladies' Rolex values - all the chatter is about gents versions.

I've got about 3 months to source one, so hopefully there is stock of the one she wants somewhere in the UK.

I'm in a very similar position as 595heaven and have decided on the same watch too. Do you think they would give us a larger discount for two together. The only problem is that I just have a month until her birthday!
Really?!

Got to be worth a try!!

Where have you tried?
Nowhere just yet. Was going to make a couple of calls to our local dealers (north Oxfordshire / Warwickshire) to see what they could do...

I’ll ask whether a bulk buy would get us a better deal!

Thanks for sharing the photos

Hmmm... 34mm does look huge on the wrist!

Definitely need to go and get her to try them on...

Just to update...

I went into our local AD a couple of weeks ago and had a really good chat.

Took Mrs 595H in last weekend to try a couple on, and settled on a 31mm Oyster Perpetual steel. She wants the white face, and they have managed to secure one from Rolex that should arrive in about 6 weeks - perf3ct timing for her birthday in early November.

I suspect there is no discount to be had, but may see if they’ll do me a deal on getting my Speedmaster serviced...

Had a call on Friday from the shop - the watch has arrived in store, much quicker then expected!

We went in today so Mrs 595H could try it on - it is lovely. Understated but a lovely thing.

Not going to pick it up until closer to her birthday in November though, much to her frustration!

They cleaned my Speedmaster Racing whilst we were there and it looks sooo much shinier! I do quite fancy a Rolex Milgauss or an Air-King though...

Just as an update...

The big birthday was last Friday. We picked up the watch on the Wednesday. To say she’s happy is a real understatement!

Brilliant service from our local AD, Michael Jones in Banbury. Simon is a pleasure to deal with.

I’m more than happy with my trusty Speedmaster, but I’d quite like a Millgauss or an Air King... Rolex do seem to make some hideous gold monstrosities though!

This is what she went for https://www.rolex.com/watches/oyster-perpetual/m17...
