Hi all, I'm looking to get some advise on this watch. I don't know much about them but I'm keeping an eye out for a new watch and quite like this style. It's the one with the blue dial in the centre.

This is a New watch from a reputable dealer. I was wondering if it could be old stock as I thought the Tag Heuer symbol had changed? Maybe only on certain models?
I understand this is a quartz movement.

So, what are your thoughts? The price is in Euro. Any thoughts on the price or would there be more value in a second hand watch?

Any alternative recommendations or ideas are most welcome too.

Thanks

Thanks Brads.. that's helpful and good to know. Yes it's a lot of money for a quartz I understand generally to be a "cheaper" movement.

I purchased the chrono version of that watch last year and negotiated a 10% discount.

Really pleased with it but recently thought about trading it in for an Omega. Was shocked at how much I have lost on it in less than a year. Might therefore be worth looking at slightly used.

Will just be holding on it and parking the Omega idea for a while.
Thanks, from an admittedly quick look, I'm not seeing any used versions for much less than about €900 on reputable websites.

With a C. 10% discount this new one wouldn't be much more. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places though!!

Thanks again all.. I might go in tomorrow and try it on.. if I like it feels comfortable etc. I'll talk discounts with them.

It's the main jewellers in Dublin.

Thanks for the input everyone.. I was in today to try it on. It's a 43mm and it felt slightly big on the wrist. I'm not sure if that's because I'm just accostimed to a smaller watch.

There was a similar F1 with a black dial and black bezel in 41mm size which fitted slightly better. But the particular model that I liked best (blue/blue) isn't available in 41mm.

It is a very nice watch though and still felt comfortable. I was going to take it today but instead I put it on hold until Monday.. just thinking why I shouldn't now!!

So, after a bit of delay I called in to the shop after work this evening and picked up the Blue/Blue F1.

Really happy with it now!

I got a bit of a discount but the store said that they are tied by Tag Heuer on the prices when I pushed for a bit more. Obviously I don't know if this is true but I have no reason not to believe them and it kind of makes sense.

I searched online and any list prices for new watches were similar to the list price of this one. So as this was my preferred retailer I went for this. Of course, bear in mind that this is in Ireland so a smaller market than UK. I doubt any retailer would match prices from a different country.
