Anyone who thinks a G-shock is Porn, has some very "specialist" tastes & I wouldn't want to see their internet history.
Given I am the OP, you're absolutely spot on wink

I mean, I like looking at my main G-shock cos it (with its scratches and dents) reminds me of the fun times I've had dangling from a 0.8mm thick rope with cuts and grazes on my elbows, forearms pumped, hands sweaty with fear but I also like looking at my Aeromatic because it is delicate and pretty.
You sure about that? Less than a millimetre is more like string than 'rope'. WTF was it made out of, or do you only weigh a couple of kilos? wink
Yer hands should never be sweaty with fear - unless yer climbing very high above the gear or soloing.

Even then, fear shouldn't come into it, one's concentration should be absolute wink

Aside form it's ability to function at ridiculous depths, could that Sinn really withstand the same level of abuse a G-Shock could?

I'd be tempted to say no, but no doubt someone will be along with before & after photos of a Sinn V's a steam roller hehe

Just to add a little balance here, I purchased two G's from Watches100 (who are also TheWatchFactory) last month, and the service was impeccable, as were the watches themselves.

Shadow - what the hell are you smoking man?!

How did a watch make you think of a laxative?

Aye, but unless I'm missing something, the orange-strap one ain't a G-Shock...

Bosshog - If you're looking to continue the orange theme, what about an Orange Gulfman (men in rescue orange)

Eta - Civpilot is absolutely right, the Baby-G (for all it's girly pretensions!) will be a much tougher watch than the one you linked to. Having said that, I like it though - cool looking watch, and there's nothing to stop you from buying it as long as you know it's not a G-Shock.

Good grief.

Those monstrosities are about as far from the ethos of G-Shock as it is possible to get!

Was is it with these watches? They look (IMHO)ste and remind me of my early digital foray in the '80s
I'll bite then, give us an alternative, sub £100 digital.[/quote

To add to that - a sub £100 digital that can handle the abuse a G-Shock can.
