Nice places to live near Hatfield

Managed to get a job in Hatfield but the internet doesn't say nice things about living there.

Can anyone suggest decent areas I should looking in for some accomodation?

Thank you for all the comments and suggestions, been a bit slow on this as only just got the contract signed.

I am looking at renting, probably someones spare room to start with, don't mind a half hour or so commute. Definitely would prefer a village location.

Spent a day up there a few weeks back, looked at Hertford which is nice but the commute looks to be a pain. Also a place on the east side of St Albans, traffic is busy, no where to park as double yellows everywhere.

Will be heading back as I start in a couple of weeks so need to sort something out.

Just to close this out, I have managed to secure a reasonable place in St Albans, not cheap but meets my needs.
