My nephew loves trains and wants to learn more about the mechanics of them. I was chatting with my sister about this and we recalled a childrens TV programme from our youth (would have been on during the 1980/90s) about a group of children finding a steam engine on an old line and getting it running again. Does anyone remember this and what it was called? Google-foo failed me this time.

Are you sure it was the 80s / 90s..? I'm wondering if you're thinking of 'The Flockton Flyer' which IIRC was shown c.1977.
Thanks, will send that over to my sister. It's certainly the right era but the story-line doesn't seem to fit with what we remembered - which was the restoration of an old line following a locomotive being found.

Ivor feeling he isn't.
hehe

Latest from sister, it might have been Australian! She remembers the train being hidden or being found amongst trees.

Thanks for all suggestions - appreciated!!!
