White Catalina currently up in the Highlands. Flew over our house Friday heading west. On Saturday it suffered engine trouble and was towed to safety by the RNLI at Loch Ness. Was reported as engine problems during take off.

Any ideas where it was towed to and whether it is still there? Fancy going up for a gander smile
No idea, but planning a run round the loch tomorrow to see if I can spot it.

It gets worse. Looks like a boat collided with it and broke one of the windows. With it moored at Urquhart bay it must be near Drumnadrochit, So on the main A82 side.

Local crane hire might not work but cranes can move. There are several large crane operators in scotland.
They may have to build a dock or even pontoon.
Crane hire will not be a problem. Weldex, a local company supplies all types of cranes all over the world. Temple pier is also on the same side of the loch where the A82 is.

I understand that.
I was pointing out to aeropilot that cranes are not hard to come by in scotland.
If they can deliver this to Fort Augustus. Any size crane can get down to the water.

Got you, I misunderstood what you meant. Did they not upgrade the B862 to get these turbines to the Fort Augustus wind farm. Making this road a lot faster that the A82?

Went down with camera in hand the other day to capture a few pictures. Unable to get near due to sign at the top of the drive stating it was private and no pedestrians or access were permitted.
