What do you think is the best looking jet ever made?
Discussion
Fair point there eric, but surely if i had titled the thread 'which do you think is the most interesting' the result would still be a list?
I was just curious to see if there was a few planes that kept cropping up.
Old jets are- in my eyes- far better looking than the modern machinery, i wondered if the consensus is the same

Sorry, also the shooting star, and i think the McDonnell DOulglas xp 88- although stand corrected on that one!
I'll correct you. It was the McDonnell XF-88 Voodoo.
The old US Army designation for fighter aircraft was "P" for "Pursuit". Following the formation of the US Air Force in 1947, the "P" designation was changed to "F" (for "Fighter").
The F-88 requirement might very well have been set out prior to the formation of the USAF so would have been initially designated P-88, but by the time it flew, it was referred top as the F-88. It was never ordered into production but was the basis for the later F-101 Voodoo.
McDonnell took over Douglas in 1967.
Any chance of a saab 29??????

The F-15 is 38 years old.
The F-16 dates from 1974.
I think the Eurofighter Typhoon is pretty neat looking.
I also think that the Airbus A340 is very elegant.
Its not a test, just a general comment.
