Any Paramotor Heads on here?

Hey guys,

Been looking into paramotoring for the last week or so and was wondering if anyone on here has done/does it?

Just looking for simple advice, recommendations etc

Will definatly be taking lessons etc, I'v heard a license is "recommended?!"

Im a hands on kind of guy so will no doubt be built over time, with bits and bobs of ebay, after all the relevant research etc, won't be cutting corners when it comes to flying!

i went to see a fly in of paramators (some real nice helpful people there) but when compairing to powered hang gliders i think the hang gliders offer more practicality.

neither require a licence but you would need some proper training which comes in at about a grand for either.

Been looking into them last couple of days, think ill have to have a go on a few different things....oh well . I'd seen them but nothing more, my intitial thoughts were that they would be a bit more "twitchy" than a paramotor? (sorry for terrible terminology) After watchin a few videos this dosen't seem to be the case, they seem a bit quicker too.

The thought of being able to fly amazes and terrifies me in equal measure but it all looks pretty simple and intuative. Also, its only recently I realised how affordable and usable some of the powered gliding stuff was.

Still after recommendations for any training/tryout days if anyone can help?

Its amazing! I can't believe you can FLY for so little money/effort. The ability to see a pukka sunset/sunrise is a big bonus for me also, I live in Cambridge and its flat as anything round 'ere!

Cheers for the info, but as I said im in Cambridge so a bit far away...well, I hope there's one closer! That is obviously something to ask about on the paramotor forum. Definatly going to have a single day first, I might hate it! lol

That picture is amazing, before I started researching paramotoring, the thought of doing that would scare me to death! Now im just jealous
