I was wondering if anyone knew of a good company for insurance for the boat. I've had a look but you can't beat PH for recommendations.

I did ask what you mean by "boat". Mine's a 27 foot yacht, getting on 40 yrs old, and my insurance does not need a survey..
Sorry..... It is an 18ft Day boat with cabin and twin 18hp outboards. It isn't the most expensive beasty in the water but it is going to be kept at the docks in the winter, and moored on a Loch in the summer. Obviously in the winter the outboards will be removed. Noble want a survey on anything over 20 years.
