Anyone know of any good American style diners in the UK?
Preferably in the midlands.

Not little food court things but full on neon-signed things with luxuries like a car park right outside.

With doo-wop on the jukebox.

Looks interesting.

I was thinking of less wagon/pre-fab ones and more.. you know, proper buildings, but that works too.

I found this one all the way down in Essex

But on streetview it's a Frankie&Benny's

Is the Kingslere one Nelson's Diner?
It looks a bit Butlins going by the website. If American and high quality isn't too incongruous.

I should point out the picture and link are not the same diner silly
I realise you realise that but re-reading my own post I didn't and I was confused.

So.. are there any in nice old art-deco/modernist buildings with.. featurey bits like the one with the round bit in the picture?

Ken's Diner in Irthlingborough, Northampton, 10mins from Santa Pod.
Great non chain diner with good food and lots of cool americana all over the place

The signs stuck everywhere kinda ruin it though don't they? A normal American diner wouldn't have signs stuck all over the wall.
Statue of Liberty, life-size roller waitress figure.. and what's with the RC Skyline?
Theme restaurant fail.

Why can't people just make a nice clean faithful reproduction of a 50's diner in a streamline moderne building without all these references to f**king New York like it's the only city in f**king America?
