Hair in food when dining out

So yesterday I was eating out at a restaurant and when my main came I noticed a really small black hair. It was about half a cm long. I just scooped out the food which was surrounding the hair and carried on eating. I didn't fancy telling the waiter in case I got an invisible surprise from the chef instead.

Now, if it was a hair which looked quite long and pube like that would be rather different. What do you people tend to do? Do you remain calm and eat it anyway or demand to see the manager?
