Favorite Pubs/Restaurants Nr Padstow...
Discussion
Just booked a week in a National Trust cottage in June.
Got JO's Fifteen booked but looking to compile a short list of less formal pubs and eateries. We will have our 2.5 year old with us so stuffy fine dining is not really on the cards. If anyone has any good shouts for pubs or informal restaurants that do decent grub and are child friendly I'd be much obliged!

i live locally, so here goes:
No.6 is excellent but stick to the set menu, Pescadou is good as Dave mentioned above as is Rick Steins bistro, go across to Rock but rather than head to Nathan Outlaw go to The Dining Room, for me this is the finest food in Cornwall.
If you can head about 5 miles up,the road go to The Scarlet at Mawgan Porth, its simply breathtaking and the food exquisite, but go for lunch as its great value, evening meals are expensive. Enjoy!

Please correct me if I'm wrong but these sound very much like fine dining establishments, which is great, but I'd love a locals knowledge on pubs and lunch stops that we can incorporate in days out without having to prebook and be concerned our 2.5 YO will ruin it for the other diners.

There's a really good restaurant in Padstow called burgers & fish.
The head chef, Redas, previously worked at Nathan Outlaws restaurant in Rock. Excellent food, friendly and informal. They have a kids menu too.
