Soho Bikes is my go to for a hot drink.

But then, I like decent bikes.
That place is way way too "pretentious" !! Its all cloned beards and ladies jeans. Do they sell , Merlin or litespeed /Black cat etc ?

It was mentioned as it deserves it. One of the best cups i have had in London

A good Black coffee can be anything from £ 2 .50-3.00 on average .

I forgot a old classic . The oldest and still one of the best

ladies (and there are many here ) and gents I give you the "Algerian Coffee Store " . Purchased a few bits and bobs and a nice "Induction ready " Grunwerg" That will get its first outing tomorrow . Also purchased some of their Finer ground coffee.

But their actual coffee to drink (take away) is still up there with the best .

Here now. (Higgins)

Upstairs is nice. Coffee good. gear well expensive . Save. A fortune and buy from Selfridges ,JL or eBay .

Downstairs decor is a bit Meh . Cakes poor . Coffee prices are very very good. Cheaper than most might think. My coffee is nice. But I wouldn't say it's as good as Taps or F&W etc

But thanks for the recommendation

Are Curators and Soho Grind coffee worth checking out?
Yes! On foot you can overdose on Good coffee around the west end /mayfair . Places like "Flat white" are a little "old" now, but bloody hell they caused a stir when they opened . I like coffee .I have been involved in the business for a very short time. But the whole "culture/hipster thing makes me laugh . Its so god damm pretentious .

TAP needs to on your list. I think Rathbone Place is the nicest and its a great food area . F&W (http://www.fernandezandwells.com/shop/lexington-street/) is one of my favourite and sentimental places (somerset house branch ) I love taking guests to london there . The coffee is strong etc.It tends to be rare I want 2 ! otherwise i turn into a junkie .

"Algerian coffee" shop just for the whole history .Its bloody amazing and the least pretentious place . Their coffee to take away is mind blowing good .But probably better for the 'expresso " crew .Which i find hard to drink .

Next.."Look mum no hands" it might be a short slep on the underground etc .But it is a amazing coffee place .One of the first hybrid "coffee/hipsterfixedwheelmetrosexual" hang outs .But it works and they are copied all over the world.

There is also a great French place .Its simple, the coffee relaxing....but 1/2 the forum want a selfie with David Beckham so i will keep that place private (!)

http://www.maisonbertaux.com/ in soho is a lovely place and one of the best to "watch people " which is why i like coffee places . Its a bloody busy place. bit mental . But great fun. And you will see many famous people in there . Cakes are "top top top" ! Its a rich full of life place. very "gay" slightly pretentious but not "hipster" . I have never ever had a bad coffee there.

For me coffee is boring without "something" , music, friends or to "people watch" Even if the coffee is the finest , but the place "meh" It aint for me .

I know it's not the bloody west end !!
But here I am again in Canada Water .
The guy selling coffee , his business is Called "Mouse Tail" I believe they have a few mobile units .
Look for a white Piaggio coffee van tingy
Far superior than a few mentioned in this thread !! They roast their own etc .

If you are local , have a try . And their oval flapjacks are the best I have ever eaten .

I visited Prufrock - Chancery Lane; brilliant Flat White. Very fruity, berry notes. The location is pretty quirky, lots of little stalls selling street food on the street outside and there's Departtment of Coffee and Social Affairs across the road.
We went to La Fromagerie today

https://www.lafromagerie.co.uk/marylebonew1/

It gets busy .But their coffee is excellent ,based on Black coffee. I dont care about coffee with milk !

Now Home and going to brew up a "Algerian Coffee shop" San Augustin . , which is a complex taste .Like a Good Rioja wine .
