Mcdonalds new ordering system

What a joke .after ordering the food myself on the new big touch screen thingy i waited for 14 minutes , which i had to chase , for an order of 13 quid earlier. Only go there once a month as a little treat for the kids. Shambles.
Poor management right there.
Sadly the kids dont much like gbk , yet...

Ha, guilty. i did dress down suitably for the trip to blend in! A sports direct disguise in the form of a cycling jersey.

Compared to some of the herberts in there i thought i was sportclassy!14 minutes though - hardly fast food !

Say it arrived after 5 minutes, what had you planned to do with the 9 minutes you had saved?

I had my elderly dad with me and my 2 kids. Place was packed with everyone waiting in that argos way . So just wanted to collect asap.
I think the old way of 1 person taking and completing the order was better. 1 person owning a little process!
Price is creeping up in there as well . For a family of 5 mcd is just under a score .nandos, which is a cut above imo, i can do for only another 7 or 8 quid....

I think they tie themselves in knots as well with the vast menu they now offer.i dont want all that choice when i go in there.the poor guys working in there . must be stressful for low pay.

As the OP , has been an interesting read. As said i only go to mcd once a month so not a massive deal. If i need a burger and fries i now mainly go to gbk . Very nice and with the app a fair amount of free food.
The 1 thing i miss from mcd from when i was a regular , when i worked opposite the one in charing cross,was the big breakfast bun.that was lovely.bring it back!

We’re a slightly different price point from GBK and I’d like to think your food arrives much quicker. Clearly apart from the order you described in the OP, where something obviously went wrong - next time speak to a manager.

Alex , i hope the golden arches are paying you for the replies! . Half term next week and I will no doubt swerve in as i feel a macattack coming on and i report back!

Afraid not but after almost 11 years service I get quite well looked after. I don't have a huge amount to do with the day to day running of restaurants so only pass on insensitive information that gets communicated internally.

Well you are the unofficial spokesperson on here now! The replies on here do give sense that mcd is important to people. Which it is in the context of a cheapish hot tasty treat meal...

Nothing has changed!. Just ordered 18quids worth of food at the till in downham and still waiting for it 10 minutes later. Chased them and finally got the food after 13 minutes.
Place was rammed out with delivery riders.
Food was fine when we got it.but understaffed big time....
Good job its a once a month visit!

I started this thread a year ago ! Seems to have struck a chord on here.
Still not a fan of the touch screen at busy times .as someone said on here, is like waiting at argos!
Is also getting more expensive in maccydees! A nandos for a family of 5 is only a fiver more for my brood...
That said a big mac is still tidy!

The price seems to slowly creep up on the extra value meals or is it just me.?
Still can't beat a nice fresh big Mac though!

bluewater branch has now been converted into touch screen ... didnt fancy the "argos" wait with about another 20 odd people , so off to burger king i went.
whopper with cheese meal. waited 2 minutes for it lovely fresh burger & hot fries. and only £6.70ish.
mdc has risen in price so not the price gap to BK that there once was.

As the OP I would never of believed this thread would still be going strong 5 years and nearly 2000 posts later haha.
I guess it is partly because issues persist/new issues.

They need to totally remove the bikers from the restaurants for starters!

Mcdonalds is better now to order as i use the app.
Food is good still if you stick to the old favourites I feel. im back to have a whinge though haha..

I had the bbq chicken smokehouse last night. V average . Thin bit of chicken and not a patch on a KFC tower....
Stick to a big mac or qtr with cheese in future!
