Me and some friends have an occasional pizza challenge night, where you turn up at a hosts house and create an amazing/unusual pizza that is then judged by all. Everyone participates.

I've won previously with poached pear and Gorgonzola pizza. (Although not openly admitted, it's a highly competitive event)

This year I'm thinking more Mexican - pulled pork, guacamole, mango salsa and pepper jack cheese.

However, this doesn't feel edgy enough. So what award winning flavour combo's have the PH posse got up their sleeves, that I can snatch this years title with?!

We have a Turkish fig tree that produces loads of fruit twice a year. This is a cracking recipe and dead simple.

Or nduja. Putting nduja on anything makes it taste amazing.
I second this. It would work very nicely with shaved fennel too.
Thanks all for your suggestions. This needs a pre event tester.

Just to comment on a number of anchovy suggestions. Now they're my #1 go to on pizza toppings. But I'm really not sure it's a crowd pleaser.

But fk it. Is it really about them.... scratchchin

Thanks for your replies. With 3 days to go the shortlist is:

1) Baba ganoush, lamb meatballs, tomato, pickled red onion and feta.
2) Apple sauce, pulled pork, crumbled black pudding and Stilton
3) Crispy duck pizza, plum sauce for the base, cheese, crispy pulled duck, then sprinkled with diced spring onion, perhaps some crispy seaweed
4) Nduja, buffalo mozzarella and shaved fennel

What would you vote for?
