Sticking to vodka this year. Found a rather nice one in our local sainsburys from J J Whitley and it's only £16 for a liter bottle at the moment. Mrs Wolf has enough wine to top up the local reservoir so no problem catering to her drinking needs either.

To be honest, my drinking doesn't change much at Christmas.

I am not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, or indeed what it says about me.

But that aside, I can usually be found drinking:

Red Wine
White Wine
Port
Disaronno
Some kind of golden Real Ale (If I'm in a pub that serves decent hand pulled ales)

In no particular order.

Whisk(e)y. It's just about the only form of alcohol I really know nothing about so I've asked the kids to get me loads of different tasting sets so i can at least see if there's anything I like.

Apart from that I have a handful of decent wines I've been saving for numerous years and TBH I'm reaching an age where saving stuff for "later" could be a waste of time!

I also have a couple of hundred in my Virgin wine account i am going to spend on a few bottles of a PH recommended wine (sorry lost the thread) and something a bit more special for NY eve.

I've had a pile of medical tests lately which show me to be in reasonable health. I'd assumed I was a lost cause but based on this I am moderating my intake to a less suicidal level.

At Christmas I like to treat myself to a decent sherry. Dry oloroso or some such.

The whole bottle, all to myself.

Likewise.

Enjoy a drink year round and no longer really go in for the "it's Christmas, must drink more and drinks I don't normally drink", but then I enjoy most stuff.

Usually a beer or two before dinner, or maybe a G&T if the wife's having one. Share a bottle of wine over dinner. Few more beers after that. Fall asleep in front of TV.

I brew my own beer, currently got a Mocha Porter carbonating. Will supplement this with some shop bought stuff. Might have some Port if we get a decent wedge of Stilton in.
