Australian Pink Floyd Show - Wow
Discussion
Absolutely brilliant gig at G-Live in Guildford last night.
They played a fantastic set covering quite a chronological range including Time, Us and Them and Great Gig in the Sky from Dark Side as well as Set The Controls For The Heart of The Sun and Keep Talking.
At the start of Great Gig, my brother said 'it will be interesting so she how the backing singers cope with the female vocal section' Well all 3 of the singers did parts and they smashed the Clare Tory recorded version.
Other highlights included Comfortably Numb, Shine on You Crazy Diamond and Wish You Were Here.
I last saw Pink Floyd on the Momentary Lapse of Reason tour and I saw Roger Waters do the Wall last year and the musicianship on display last night was on a par, if not better.
They have to be the best tribute band in the world - selling out the London O2 every time they play there says a lot.
Of course they are not the 'real deal' but they're not pretending to be.
I go quite a few concerts and this will take some beating for gig of the year.
The first, but certainly not the last time I see this band.
