Just been having a chat with some of the guys in work, and happened to to mentioned the best ever pop record produced ("Club Tropicana", by Wham!). They pulled me back to this point ...

I believe Club Tropicana is, was, and always will be the best pop music record and video ever put out. They, sadly, are too young to see the beauty of the record.

Let me take you to the place where membership's a smiling face, brush shoulders with the stars. Where strangers take you by the hand, and welcome you to wonderland - from beneath their panamas... Club Tropicana, drinka are free; fun and sunshine, there's enough for everyone, all that is missing is the sea, but don't worry - you can sun tan.

I also believe that the second best pop record of all time is "Last Christmas" by Wham! which also has the second best video of all time.

I would point out that I am not a Wham! fan, just that these two pieces of music are, in my opinion, the best piece of pop music ever published.

You laugh, but he's probably not wrong!

Club Tropicana is 100% pure pop through and through including the video, and Last Christmas is still one of the best known Christmas records in the world, wheeled out every Christmas with no sign of diminishing popularity at all!
As well as recognising how many (looks like over 120) people have re-recorded Last Christmas!

Some of these are good - some are dreadful (Oasis? In a POP RECORD post? Seriously?), I would give a few points to the people who have put in Thriller (also a very good video) but I still haven't had my mind changed yet ...

Pack your bags, and leave tonight. Don't take your time, gotta move your feet, don't you miss the flight!

Just heard the greatest record ever produced this morning - it is nearly 35 years old! Still feel great when it is played.
