I need guidance as to my mind the current state of affairs is ridiculous.

I need a decent MP3 player, to be used with in ear headphones. I have always used Samsung, which have been fine, and they last around 2 to 3 years in general with my useage of roughly 10 hours per week.

However, if you look online today, the only options are crappy Sandisk or Kubik jobbies which don't have the volume or sound quality I am after. Samsung seemed to have stopped making them and in fact there is no choice at all. I don't want to use my phone, I want decent quality, loud music in a small device that I can tale anywhere with me.

What should I be looking for?

I am also fed up of continually having to transfer all my music from format to format every few years. First it was cassette, then CD, then MP3 and now it is looking like it's all going to MP4. I have too much stuff and not enough time to be going through the process of updating it all.

No decent FM radio function on phone
No enough volume on phone
More difficult to transfer podcasts and songs onto and off phone which I do almost daily
Phone too bulky if I am out doing exercise
Phone sound quality mediocre
Don't want to play music via my phone

Looks good - will it play MP3 as well as Flac / Floss / Flossless whatever it is called?

Ok yes that looks exactly what I am looking for. Now recommend some buds, currently using Seinnheisers, have previously used Beats, not a fan of Bose.
