Chris Rea, Newcastle City Hall
Discussion
Watched a 2017 concert on TV (Sky Arts?) last night
Virtually an edit of the City Hall concert.
What I did notice on TV that I couldn't see on stage is the lines on his face. He looked much more "drawn" and actually quite ill on TV.
Also his guitar work was being "duplicated" by another guitarist (missed his name) and Chris tended to do slide and occasional bursts of lead rather than sole lead.
Would be nice to hear how he's doing although I guess he's just retired due to health probs - he's been through the mill and back a few times!
I do wish him well, having got nearly every record released, and having first watched him in Newcastle (Hoffbrauhaus) around 1977.
He certainly doesn't deserve the health problems he's gone through.

Saw Steve Van Zandt there too.
Them were the days.
Then of course Hofbrauhaus changed direction somewhat as part of the pink triangle as I recall......never went back.
Speaking of old days, first concert ever, City Hall: The Nice, Tyranasaurus Rex, Chickenshack, Savoy Brown.
The start of my music appreciation
