Synth/Retro wave
Discussion
I've grown to really like this genre, and want to try and get other people interested as well.
It's 80's based music with a modern take, quite atmospheric in places and energetic in others.
As an album, I love The Midnight's "Endless Summer", best served with a drink in the late evening, or on a long dusk drive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pUL7u-mYqA - "Jason" is my favourite song on the album, at 17:26.
As an individual track, FM-84's "Running In The Night" is an excellent example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvZskcqdYcE
Just wondering if there are any other fans on here, and if you have any other tracks to share. Plus, be happy to meet up at a Midnight concert should they come over to the UK!

Thanks guys, good suggestions there.

Love this genre, and normally just have Youtube running through them in the background when i'm at home.
Can't find them on Amazon Unlimited though, where i could on Spoitfy. Just moved over to Amazon from Spotify recently, so maybe they are tucked away, or i just need to create my own playlist.
I've got a small playlist on Spotify here, if it helps: https://open.spotify.com/user/fairfieldsteve/playl...Can't find them on Amazon Unlimited though, where i could on Spoitfy. Oh man, I’m thinking about it too...I don’t think they’ll do anything in Canada, I’m not likely to be in Paris, so will have to secure those last London tickets
If you haven’t heard their latest track....”Lost Boy”

I’m friends with one of the artists I’ve previously mentioned. I keep badgering him to talk to The Midnight guys who he knows and get some dates sorted out for them to fly over to Spain and tour Malaga, Seville, Granada and Marbella. I keep saying the whole late-night, synthwave, tropipop, laid back setup would be brilliant here! There are loads of places near where we live that don’t want to do the whole Nikki Beach thing, and want live music with bands like this who attract a more chilled out crowd. I just have to keep upsetting my neighbours playing this loud as the sun goes down
I notice the Midnight are playing bigger and bigger places, but surprised some of these bands haven’t dipped their toes into the beach/ocean side town scene. Secure the big dates in the major cities but the genre has an untapped market along the Med’s key spots.
New Arcades seem to be ok too. Not fully sure of all their stuff, but this is great.

They are playing Madrid, and one of the London dates is sold out. Would be a great sunset gig!If you haven’t heard their latest track....”Lost Boy”
