One of my children needs a carrier for his bass, because his old one is a bit flimsy. Father Christmas has asked whether it might be a suitable stocking filler.

He has a "Protection Racket" case for his guitar, which is very good, but if we buy another of those I can see him picking up the wrong instrument on his way to lessons.

I quite like the look of hard cases (the Fender one for example), but I think in terms of practicality a soft one with shoulder straps has to be favourite.

Tips appreciated.

How much do you spend??

I use Mono cases and they are excellent.

Reunion blues are good. The foam shell cases are good/light but bulky.

Just head down to your local music store and pick up a padded gig bag.

Good luck
The trouble is our local store, though big, often doesn’t have much choice.

The problem is that our local store, though big, often has little choice and the ideal thing is out of stock.

Yh thats would work fine

That case has 10mm of padding where as the grey one I sent has 20mm - the Mono more.

All depends on the value of the bass and how much you want to spend on the case.

All would be a massive improvement over a non padded case
The expensive one is 25% of the instrument's value!
