I joined Tidal yesterday as there is a £4 deal for 4 for months with Hi-res streaming. Listening to the tracks, most of them don't sound like the original version and some of the artists don't either?

I thought the same on Apple music when I got that with a phone last year and for that very reason didn't continue with it.

Could be a different / non prime time version (cheaper in royalties?) or just better sound quality....?

Madonna didn't sound right and neither does Phil Collins (listening to an 80's playlist at the moment). Sounds like some wannabe. Names aren't listed just the song title.

Anyone else think this?

Think I might switch back to Spotify and subscribe to that.

no, sorry the mixed compilations (like an 80's compilation/playlist I was listening to) sound like they are covers.

Kings of Leon and Queen which I also listened to were original artists.

I noticed that too, but on Amazon Unlimited; just sounds a bit "off".

Find the same track, but actually sung by proper artist, and you can immediately tell the difference.
yeah I wonder whether they are cheaper versions to stream from the artists?! Bit of a con.
