If he'd just stabbed Delilah and the Police are about to break down the door, why is he asking person or persons unknown to bring her to him? Presumably either he and a very cross Delilah or he and her body are still there. If not, where is he?

At what point does he ask for her to be brought? wobble
"Give me Delilah, I just couldn't take any more."

I'm more than 60 years old.

I've been listening to 19th Nervous Breakdown since I was about 7.

The other day I Googled "ceiling wax" to find out exactly what it does to the ceiling.......

....now, that is dorkish hehe

Was the House of the Rising Sun a gambling house, a brothel or a brothel with gambling? The narrator mentions sin and misery. If it was solely a brothel presumably there would be brief periods of joy and if it was just a gambling house where's the sin? But if he was broke he wouldn't be welcome in either.

What the hell was going on for the entirety of Whiter Shade of Pale?

None of it makes sense.
More drink and drugs for Table 6.

It's quite clear to me that he's inside..

....or why would he be a tad concerned about them breaking down the door?
If only Tom had had it out with that man who drove away we wouldn't be in this mess.

So many great songs where we have no idea what's going on.

Bohemian Rhapsody, The Man Who Sold The World, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds.

The mystery must be the attraction.

So what did Bobbie and Billie Joe throw off the Tallahatchie Bridge?

Tom could have concealed his involvement by saying he was going to Graceland to see his old mate.

The Baby.
I wondered that but how could Bobbie and Billie Joe have kept the baby a secret? Living at home with her parents the deception would mostly be down to Bobbie but Billie Joe would have had to keep quiet and he, according to Bobbie's father, never had a lick of sense. Could she have relied on him?

Perhaps they borrowed the baby from a neighbour
To practice throwing babies off bridges in case she got pregnant? It's a bit extreme, isn't it? How about, with him there, she threw the distributor for his Stutz Bearcat from the bridge? He coped to begin with but chose to end it all after he spoke to the suppliers.

While we're at it, then, does the car in "Greased Lightning" have two gearboxes? "Well, this car's automatic, it's hydromatic, it's something-else-matic, well it's Greased Lightning", the song says at the start, but then later it says "with a four-speed on the floor".
A pot pouri of excerpts from songs with references to car parts assembled by a lyricist with little time or knowledge. The "four on the floor" is lifted straight from the Beach Boys' Little Deuce Coupe.

Lyricist: What's four-on-the-floor?
Bystander: Four speeds.
Lyricist: Got it, thanks. I'll put four speed on the floor.
Bystander: Must you?

"I shot the sheriff, but I didn't shoot the deputy".

Is that really the defence case you want to run with......I mean......seriously?
His defence is, he shot the sheriff in self defence but had nothing to do with the shooting of the deputy which was an unfortunate coincidence that might appear incriminating.

Your witness.

Come on Mr Marley, seriously. Have you been smoking weed, expecting us to swallow this nonsense?
How can my client be a suspect in any wrongdoing? He holds a respectable place in society from being in business for many years with Ebenezer Scrooge. Shot the deputy, indeed! Preposterous.

I always preferred the SAHB version
"I thought this was the 'Where was Tom' thread."
"Do what?"
"Okay, have it your way. Where was Alex?"
"The Hammersmith Odeon. 1975."

The narrator of Whiskey In The Jar robs Captain Farrell and takes the money back to Molly, she betrays him to the Captain and he finishes up in prison - "the Devil take that woman cos you know she tricked me easy."

If Molly was as bad as we are led to believe, why didn’t she just take the money and scarper when he was asleep? "Me, I like sleepin', especially in Molly's chamber."

It don't make no kinda sense.

The Indians send signals from the rocks above the pass
The cowboys take position in the bushes and the grass
The squaw is with the Corporal...

Hold up! Corporal? Cowboys don't have Corporals. Was this a Joint Operation between the cowboys and the US Cavalry?

Hey, Mr. Churchill comes over here
To say we're doing splendidly
But it's very cold out here in the snow
Marching to and from the enemy
Oh I say it's tough, I have had enough
Can you stop the cavalry?
No, don't stop the carnival

(Am I doing this right?)
