). What is annoying (first world problems and all..) is that Friday and Saturday dates have turned into Sundays and Mondays...
Now I'm the opposite of that. I much prefer not going on a Friday or Saturday because a) if I drive then it's much easier to park and b) if I go on the train then it's not packed. Still, doesn't matter so much now as nowhere is busy.

I doubt there will be any gigs until June at the least.
I fear you are correct. And how many venues will have gone bust by then as well ?

Being an old gimmer, I went several times to that in the days when it was called Donington Monsters Of Rock.

When it were all fields

Must say I'm less inclined to go cos it's not very metal to bend to commercialism is it and Download is a high concentration in one place. RockPrest(on) is a free download-esque festival and is all tribute bands. It's mental and I think they do similar in other parts of the country.
It was indeed just a field with one big stage, none of your VIP areas and glamping caper and carry on. And 6 or 7 bands, Midday till around 11 at night and that was it. I'll be telling you about the war next, young'un !! smile

John Grant (booked in September 2020) for May has now been pushed back until September.

Is anyone going to spend 100 large on a gig ticket on the basis they will do tests and you wont get in if you fail?

Simple Minds out to April 2022 as well now.
Promoters for anything indoors before about September looking nervous.
You can see what's happening here. Every will get pushed back again for another year.

I see Alan Leach, the drummer from Shed Seven is now saying that he won't participate in the Shedcember tour if having a vaccination is made a condition of entry to venues.

Interesting times ahead for that particular question, for all indoor gigs.
Or will he do an Andrew Lloyd Webber ?

Jimmy Carr last night at The Apollo, Manchester. Not music I know, but the first indoor gig of any kind for me since the plague struck and the Gov stole 18 months off me.

Rammed. No masks. People laughing heartily. 2 vax check on the way in. Life affirming, and a good tonic. Some very funny jokes. In fact thousands of them. JC is the consummate professional and he must have an extraordinary memory.
Excellent.

I've got my first gig next Saturday and the venue's website makes no mention of anything at all; social distancing, masks, vaccine checks, nothing at all.

I shall report back once I've been.

I've just been emailed to say I need to show my Covid Passport. That thing that the Government said they had no plans for.

Think I got the same email from Kentish Town O2 - Negative LFT, double jab or positive PCR with the past 6 months. Whether it's actually checked is another thing.
That is exactly what mine said, booked via SeeTickets.

The venue, Grand Central Hall in Liverpool, has nothing at all on their website on restrictions what-so-ever.

As you say, will it actually be enforced ?

And indeed not a person was asked to produce any of the above tonight.
