The Main Event.

Concert from Madison Square Garden.

It’s quite something. Frank seems able to control the audience.

Everyone is dolled up to the nines, the band are rocking. Franks voice is OK but I’d not say anything special but nonetheless his charisma and style is phenomenal.

Is there anyone like this now? Glamorous dinner dance type stuff ( pre Covid restrictions)

What a night for the audience.

Sinatra was of his time, and he was undoubtedly good, but he wasn’t my bag, if Noël Scott Engel, aka Scott Walker really was one of favourite singers, then he wasn’t a bad judge IMO.
I remember sometime in the seventies, Sinatra was due to appear in London, can’t remember where, RAH, Palladium, I don’t know, but a bunch of devout docker fans were organising a trip to see him.
A guy I knew, a lighterman, was on the fringe of the Sinatra aficionados, but when asked if he wanted a seat on the trip, he declined.
The dockers froze him out, if he walked into the Little Crown in Southwark Park Road after that, he was dead to them, strange people.
Nice story.

But, realistically I don’t think Frank Sinatra would be that miffed at not being welcome at The little Crown in Southwark.

Was he previous regular there?
