Afternoon all,

I have recently purchased a 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander (I know its not a proper 4x4) and the previous owner fitted some very cheap and nasty tyres to it, 3 different brands to be precise.
I was hoping to replace all of them for a set of decent tyres, however having never owned a 4x4, I am a little bit lost as to what brands are good etc. I do use the car off road, as well as commuting with so I am after some advise as to what people can recommend as a decent all rounder for ideally, sub £100.

I found the following tyres but have no idea if they are any good? Tyre size can be either 255/55/18 or 235/55/18:

Sounds good, I have no idea how much off road treatment it will be getting as I haven't any idea where I can use it around here (cumbria) but I would rather have the right tyres before I attempt anything, even if its just getting to mountain biking locations!

Are the yokos decent on road and wear wise? I presume the AT3 is similar to the yoko?

I'm all for the Yokos as well. They are a bit noisier than the the last GG AT2s I had though... .
Road noise is fine, I have a stereo which can be turned up. I am more concerned with longevity, as presumably being "winter rated" the compound wears quite fast during summer, moreso with nearly 2 ton pushing down.

With regards to tyre size, either 225 or 235 width will fit my wheels, OEM is 225, is it better keeping narrower tyres or go for a bit wider if it's not going to be living purely on the road?

I have those Yokohamas on my 2.0 Forester SF. Not great braking in snow but good all round otherwise.

You don't say what kind of off road but I would stick with a road biased tyre like a Quatrac 5 or Cooper Weathermaster
To be honest, I don't know myself what off roading the car will be doing other than muddy fields, forestry tracks but would like to take it on a pay&play site or greenlaning too.

Thanks everyone so far for your suggestions, I am keeping an eye out as prices seem to have gone up suddenly in the past week for some of the tyres I am looking at so I may have to wait until they come back down.
