I got myself a series 3 Landy with all the bits (mostly!) for off roading, the problem is that it's too bloody slow on the motorway, and I've been bitten by the 4x4 bug that much, I've already booked my summer holiday 4x4'ing in the south of France.
So, I'm looking to sell the series 3, and buy a cheap Defender, (diesel) can anyone tell me what cruising speed I'd be getting out of one?

Ta!

Out of curiosity what do you consider too slow? Or are you talking about a lack of acceleration?
Well it's the cruising speed on the motorway, the series 3 is flat out with everything rattling at about 55, I would like 70mph as a cruising speed.

to the original OP a few mates with defender TDis seem to cruise around 70-80mph.
That'll do me! I'll sell the series 3 and get myself a defender

Well, I've bought the Defender (off pistonheads classified, of course!) so now I just need to sell the series 3...........
Anyone want it?
