My D40 Navara needs some new tyres as the old ones have just covered 24k miles and some are near the limit. I want to replace them with a slightly larger tyre both width and height, and also a more aggressive tyre but no "special tracks"!.

Its currently on Good year Wranglers 255/65/17. Any ideas on how much larger I can go or with what tyres, as I know it varies from brand to brand?

Being fitted this afternoon by a mobile fitter.

Called into ATS on Wednesday and because I already had the tyres they said they weren't allowed to fit them! What a load of b*llocks!!

Well got them fitted and they ride good, nice and smooth. Better than I thought they would actually.
Got a 320 mile round trip to Lincolnshire to do tomorrow so will see how they perform, might even see some snow biggrin

The fitting was expensive I think at £19 a rim but it was conveinient because I was just to busy to get it done another way at the moment.

Hi Andy thumbup

Yes real pleased with them, havent used them offroad yet but the onroad manners are great. I havent noticed any more road noise than the OE tyres fitted before and they handled the snow and ice great, well pleased!
Mind you the tyre fitter inflated them to 35psi but I found the steering too light at speed and have dropped them to 32psi but have yet to test them at speed again, been way too busy playing with my land rover in the snow!
Thanks, Neil.
