Good to see you out this morning Jason! The changeable weather scared a lot of people away...
One comment would be (as I yelled at you as we passed - sorry!!) try and turn a slightly bigger gear if you can - your legs were spinning round and you weren't getting the full benefit of your efforts.. Appreciate that it is easy to comment, but I think it will really help your cycling.

All advice taken mate, this is all new to me, trying to find the sweet spot between spinning and grinding away
The wind over the first 12 k's was brutal, but was determined to get round the full loop

Was looking at CSD today, looks like a pretty good set up.
Aiming to try the loop for the first time this weekend, can't take any more laps of Ranches.
Seems like it is impossible to get lost so should be ok
Me and a mate are going out at 0530 on Friday morning if you want to join, want to get finished before the suns upAiming to try the loop for the first time this weekend, can't take any more laps of Ranches.

Go and look at the bike shops here but be prepared for the price of things
Its a bit cheeky but go and try the shoes on somewhere and then look at the prices on line, you may be suprised
Check out :
Evans cycles
Merlin Cycles
If you want to try some Shimano shoes on for size , give me a shout. Im usually a size 9 , thats what I ordered and they come on slightly small
Chris is leaving the standard pedals on the bike, if you are going to buy some cleats decide if you want road ot mtb cleats,if road one of the options are SPD-SL cleats, go for the yellow ones, 6 degrees of float.
I have just ordered some new pedals, so my old ones will be going spare
Be prepared to fall ff at some point , when you forget to unclip. This will usually be in front of people
Get yourself some decent padded shorts, worth there weight in gold. There are some good sales on at Merlin at the moment, Lusso gelpad bib shorts are highly recomended as are the Extendo range

Cheap cycling tops available from Direct sports UK, by cheap I mean 5gbp, and there is nothing wrong with them

Be prepared to cry at the price of shoes/cleats out here - maybe also look at Adventure HQ.
As for falling off in front of people at Al Qudra when still clipped in, who on earth would do that....... ermm
Jason, am back from my ride mate so will drop you a text to give the bike bag back to you. Cheers for that

From foska? If so let me know as i'm getting the pukka pies and a-z ones ordered this week. Also bought a yorkshire rose jersey and almost succumbed to the planetx tour de yorkshire Ltd edn bike!
Not sure i'm going to like the lycra look but the pockets are going to be v. Handy.
I see that Planet X have put their shipping prices up, when I bought mine 4 months ago shipping was 95 quid, its currently 170Not sure i'm going to like the lycra look but the pockets are going to be v. Handy.

Which did you buy Jason? I'm looking at the RT-58. I could get a fitting done in dubai and then order/collect next time I go home
I ordered the RT58, size 54You are welcome to try it for size, Andrew on here has also got the same bike, not sure on the size though
It retails at 1366, once you knock the vat off I think I paid 1166. For that sort of money I think you'll be hard pushed to find a better bike in my opinion
