Getting a used car checked over...and issues with US Imports

Hi all - I am soon to have ALL the topics on the first page!! 
I'm just about to purchase a 2006 GT Premium...and it's a US import rather than a bona fide GCC one.
It's got most of the spec (all things I want anyway) BUT no history other than the import documentation. It's done 24,000 miles and it feels honest. The interior is really untouched as you would expect at that mileage and the engine sounds sweet. The wheels are original and un-kurbed. No dents in the flanks that I could see. Going to drive it tomorrow and discuss money with the dealer.
However, because it's got no history and I would be the first registered owner over here, I would like some advice from someone that knows.
Anyone know a mechanic etc who does this kind of thing in Abu Dhabi??
