What size gloves? Conflicting size charts!

I'm looking at some of the Alpinestars Tech 1-Z gloves and some size charts say L and others say XL. I measured around my hand as being 9.5" and I'm interested to know what size others have gone with if any of you have similar measurements!

No it was meant for UK Club Motorsport! No idea what happened there....

OK guys thanks for the help. I guess the different fit for different ranges explains the contradictory size charts.

I've gone for XL and a dose of hope! Let's see what happens

Well just to update, I received the XL gloves and they fit quite comfortably but I'm not completely happy, not sure the fingers are quite long enough and the bit between thumb and index finger doesn't sit against my hand but is lifted away from it.

Ordered the XXL to compare in the end and will send back the one which is worst.
