Forced Induction FWD Tin Tops club race series for 2018

I understand that "The Motorsport School" will be supporting a new tin top series exclusively for forced induction or hybrid FWD cars in 2018.

The series will be run by the CSCC and run to the usual 40 min pit stop race format for 1 or 2 drivers. And all the cars in this series will also be eligible for a second race in either the club's Open Series or one of the relevant age related series such as Future Classics, Modern Classics or New Millenium, as long as they conform to those series regs.

Eligible cars include Mini R53 and 56, Renault Meganes, Ford Focus, Vauxhall Astra VXR and all the ubiquitous VAG turbo cars.

The class structure allows for a number of classes to allow for supercharged, turbocharged and hybrid cars of different capacities.

Cars will be allowed to have splitters and wings etc. Tyres will be List 1B/C as usual.

And before anyone moans that I am promoting the CSCC again, then please note that I havent been on the committee for something like 3 years and have raced with the 750mc more this years than I have with CSCC! I just think that this has the potential to be an excellent series.

I think you are right but this gives these cars a place to race for overall honours, rather than being in the same class as various BMW and Porschrs etc, and recognises the fact that a lot of new cars are now in this fwd turbo configuration.

It also means that these cars have the opportunity for a second race over a weekend, and that's becoming increasingly a desirable factor for some racers.
