Hello,

I'm interested in finding a simple GPS/OBD2 data logger for hillclimbs and sprints, so I can easily compare runs and identify where to find time. Something like the AiM Solo 2 DL looks like it might do the job, but they're designed as lap timers and I'm not clear whether they'd be much use for the types of event I do. Sprints are often 1.75 laps of a circuit (pit lane exit to pit lane entry with a flying lap in-between) - how would it cope with that?

Any experiences or other ideas would be gratefully received.

Thanks, Rob.

Thanks chaps.

At most venues it should be possible to set start and finish points when I walk the course.

Essentially all I want is a speed vs. distance graph for each run (ignoring whether the second half of the run repeats any of the first half) , which can be overlaid over each other as the day/weekend goes on. Adding data from the OBD2 would be a nice refinement. That doesn't seem like too much to ask.

Thanks chaps, some food for thought there.

I'm not so interested in split times etc, just want a good reliable system for producing speed/distance graphs (with OBD2 for extra interest and geekery) for reviewing on the laptop between runs.

Cheers.

Yeah, poncey data logger and laptop analysis between runs is probably a bit overkill for a Clio in Standard Car but we'll gloss over that.
