hi
still intact but unded bolt and selector shaft has snapped.

the good thing is it about 6 inches from end so because in the tail of the box metal wont hopefully gone to gears. the bad thing is my cars done 16,000 miles and this gear box was brand new when the car was built.

i need to now find out someone who car rebuild these boxes near me.

Not sure. Would have thought the gear linkage is tried and tested by now... It wasnrt a recon box. It was brand new 2001 and only done very low mileage. Im wondering if outer bearing worn due to gear linkage and the shaft snaped as supported inside but not on outside due to bearing.. only a therory

just an update guys.

yes i rung Classic and sports and dissapointed they quoted 650 plus vat labour plus parts. its a shame as they are 7 miles up the road and yes come with alot of recomendations.

GT cars in warrington who is a known ferarri/ lambo/ porsche guy has quoted £200 labour plus parts. big difference.

The shaft has snapped due to a flaw in the metal. looking at the break its ovious its always been there just never given way due to low mileage.

Yes my box was new out of the box in 2001 at £10000 i think cost... You haveto remember my car is factory built car, for a Doctor in London, best of everything and reason i bought teh car 5 years ago. A big thankyou to the Factory, the car is so well put together
