I am speech-less. That is absolutely tragic. I hope that both you and Jo make a full recovery as quickly as possible. I have no doubt MSM will also honour their obligation in providing you with a large cheque so you can start over, although I don't think an Ultima may be such a good choice as a first car.

It's amazing that you can joke about your cooking days being over so quickly, as if I had just done the same after spending so much time and money, I would surely crack. It takes balls to come back and post after a major incident like that, and I take my hat off to you.

You didn't Teflon-coat your tyres did you??

Excellent news tuckshop! If it were me, I would go with the £50k providing it covers your initial outlay. I think I would have a problem trying to get aquainted with the car again as from personal experience it's hard to "love" a car again after something as dramatic as that has hapened. When my concours Capri 3.0S (ok I know, but they were cool in those days) got T-boned by a woman that couldn't see out of the junction so she just pulled out, i had to let it go - too much time and effort spent to start over again.

How is your girlfiriend now? I hope she is recovering physically and mentally. When I impersonated a trapeze artist on my motorcycle it took me a long time to get back on it.

Something should be said in praise of your insurers MSM, as it would seem that they truly are a reputable firm for dealing with your claim so promptly. We all moan about the ridiculous costs that insurance companies ask for but clearly in this instance you got what you paid for.

Will you build another one, I wonder?
