Having had a look at Javier Marino`s site, linked from CJ`s site, he has fitted air jacks.

Is this a worthwhile thing to do for helping to get a real jack under there or are they just a gimmick?

I like the idea of getting them fitted, just need feedback from you guys who already have up and running cars.
Let me know

I am just looking into all things Ultima at present. Went and saw Guy Thompsons GTR at Marlow yesterday, lovely car and also met Brian, the chap building the yellow Can Am.

I just think they would make sense.

You can find out about them at www.apracing.com, no prices, but Guy says they are about £1300 and then you gotta fit them. Don`t know if it runs off the car, or as you say, from an external compressor ala Touring Cars, but if they are to be fitted, best fitted at build stage me thinks.
I will pop up to my local AP Dealer in Berks tomorrow and see what they say.

Javier has one at the front and two rears.
Will post once I hear back from him or even get him to post here if he is a member.

Quick lift jack, what a great idea!! and cheap, could have done with one of these on my Esprit.

As said in my post above, went up to my local AP stockists in Binfield, Bracknell, Berks, who are also Rally experts to see about costs for the air jacks e.t.c. and the chap there was very knowledgable, he seemed to think if not doing track days, not worth fitting and mentioned the quick lift jacks as well.

He did mention that Sachs also do a hydraulic version of the jacks, so they run fully on the car with no external attachments needed ala Range Rover for height adjustment over rough ground. His words"Bloody useless for track days if in a hurry, but great for home maintenance"
It justs needs an additional pump and reservoir. Would take around 3-5 mins to lift 400kgs, but for home maintenance or even track days if not in a hurry, could be a good idea. He is finding out about these and costs. He reckoned AP air jacks bloody expensive, at £498.94, £584.92 or £1178.64 each depending on weight and height given, ranging from 168mm, to 230mm to 310mm. As Guy says, are they worth it for a road car.
I`ve made my mind up not to get them fitted, but as Javier states, Ultima H/O will fit the brackets at build stage, as they know what is needed.

I`ve given up on the idea of fitting air jacks now anyway from all the comments and only really worthwhile for track use.
The hydraulic system, I have e-mailed Sachs direct, but to date no response, it was from their site, but mainly shocks and clutches.

Cheers,

Dave
