Guys...

Hope someone can help on this one...basically finished all the wiring on the car now ready for the centre section install.....just trying to finish up the odd jobs one of which is finalizing the ford escort (MK4) stalks. I've figured everything out with the exception of how to get the bloody park function operating on the wiper....any of you clever peeps that can help out?? Really appreciate any words of wisdom from those that have already done this mod.....

Thanks for the replys guys....gonna have another look this morning......

Steve wiring all intact as per original....nothing disconnected at motor end only at switch end....let you know how I get on......

Guys,

Seem to be going backwards here......had everything working just needed to wire in the indicators/hazard which seemed the easiest bit of all so had left that to last.....now however I've hit a problem....previously I had wired the lights using pin 31 as additional live feed for the flasher relay I had added.....lights all worked ok.....(Crafty - looking at your wiring diagrams under "a question of stalks" seems you did same?)....problem is that pin 31 is common switch unit earth with the Ford plug in flasher unit!!

Now I have working indicators/hazard but can't seem to get configuration working for the lights......appreciate any help from you MK4 switchgear guru's....Crafty, GTRsimon??

Fed up with wiring now so gonna get on with me headlining!!!!

Guys,

Nearly forgot......I'm running the new LED rear lights and using either the factory or Ford flasher unit blinking rate is to fast when indicating only....on hazard blink rate is ok |(higher load with all flashers on).....so looks like I need some additional line resistance for the reduced LED load over conventional bulbs......I'll give the factory a call in the morning to see if they have an easy fix.....

Back to the headlining...

I've got a set of MK5 stalks and they are quite different in design and pin assignment from the MK4......

Pete....call you in the morning.......be good to have a chat with you and Adrian.....couple of questions for you!!

Thanks Crafty....

Already cribbed all the info I could off your earlier post......left it alone for most today but gonna have another look in the morning......think I might have sorted it on paper at least - though it's now 1.50am & I'm tired so probably not right???!!!!!.....

However, looking at your wiring diagram you link pin out 30 and 31 just as I did originally....in this config and changing switching on high beam blue/blk via addt'l relay all ok (in other words used 31 as feed out to new relay).....as per post above hadn't realised 31 was common earth for flasher unit that plugs in to rear of the stalk........hence lost some light functions in gaining correct indicator/hazard operation! Quick question - did you use the plug in flasher unit or keep the 2 original Ultima relays??
