PS4 not working with old pioneer plasma
Discussion
I have tried connecting my PS4 through an Onkyo amp to an old Pioneer PDP 434 plasma but get no picture. It works with the xbox 360 so I know it is not the hdmi input or the Onkyo amp.
Is there something different with the HDMI standard that the PS4 is using that will mean that it will not work on an older TV. Would using an HDMI to component cable bypass this problem?
Any advice appreciated

Have tried getting it sorted by making sure cables are only fitted when power off on items. Have tried it running through the amp on all its HDMI inputs and directly to the TV. Have tried all combinations of order of switching on items and also different cables.
The result is the same each time. TV flickers about once per second as if it is trying to get a signal but no joy. One weird thing is that it gives the resolution information in the top right corner (info from the tv) as 1125p.
If I change the PS4 resolution setting to 720p I stead of automatic (using a different screen) then plug it back into the pioneer then the top fight corner information tells me it's a 625p resolution setting.
Will try am HDMI to component converter and use the optical out for the sound and see if this sorts the issue.
