These 2 channels have gone (107 over the weekend 106 disappeared last night)

107 BBC News HD
106 BBC 4 HD

Both signal strength 30% quality 0

All the other channels HD (BBC ITV etc ok)
All non HD channels OK

All these have circa 80% Signal strength and 100% quality.

A bit of a vipers nest of coax cables in the loft with a Wolsey amplifier feeding 5 TV points, another TV point seems to be split from a one of the roof aerial coaxes before it goes to the amp.

Not all the coax TV points work in the house, but we only use 2 anyway.

I've tried bypassing the amp and plugging one of the TV points directly into the roof aerial, all works as above still no 107 or 106

Any ideas before I call an aerial man?

ETA it's channels 106-111 that've gone. Guess it's time for an aerial man.

Thanks chaps

I've remade any connections I can get at, the AWOL channels are all part of one MUX, no transmitter problems. So thinking aerial.

Have you returned the tv?

Could have just juggled the multiplexes around.

Or could have water in the coax.

Or could have to much signal.

Retuned TV, lost 107 completely
Signal 80%
If problems on the roof I'll need an aerial bloke.

It's the whole multiplex, strangely enough it's just come back. Albeit @ a low 45% signal and 80% quality.

Nothing at your end can lose just one Mux. It's got to be a transmitter issue or change.
Odd, nothing reported.

Is it wet outside, when it came back was it drier outside, sunny, warmer?

Water or moisture in the cable can effect very specific frequencies and therefore potential a single Mux or a narrow group of muxes.

Looking at the SC transmitter, the mux you are missing is C33 and the lowest of all them. Just wanted the check it wasn’t in the middle of the pack.

So could be a hardware fault, filtering out a lower group of signals, or water ingress causing the same problem.

V.
Thanks, yes it's C33 we're missing, it came on suddenly, both TV's in the house affected, weather could certainly be to blame. Time for an aerial man.

I'm guessing if it's an aerial/cable problem it's likely to get worse and affect other channels.

We do have a Wolsey aerial booster, it doesn't make much difference (apart from an all round lower signal strength) if I bypass it.

Seems to have come back ok, signal strength a little low around 50-60% quality 100%
