Integrated Home TV / Media system for a Luddite

Riiiight, I've fallen way behind in the technology stakes and am bewildered by the amount of choice out there. I'm looking for some advice as to how to go about updating the family home.
Currently we have an HD telly with Sky (not Sky Q or multiroom) in the lounge and two smaller tv's in other rooms, one of which has a cable running under the floorboards from the main TV so that I can watch football in the kitchen on a Sunday whilst cooking the dinner. We have an xbox and a PC and (gasp) broadband / wifi.
I'm ideally looking for something that means we can listen to (spotify) music and/or TV in various rooms.
The mainstream option would appear to be Sky Q and an Amazon fire stick (except the missus doesn't like Alexa whenever we've been to other peoples houses) but i'm sure that there must be other routes I could take.
Any pointers?
