We don't do big TVs - but want to upgrade from our 32" in the lounge. Don't really want to go bigger than 40"

Havent bought a TV in many years so looking for a bit of help in what features to look out for.

99% of the time its just showing whatevers on the Sky box. Only thing I'm really keen on quality for is the sport in HD.

I would like the option of showing stuff from things like Amazon fairly simply if possible.

I'll probably upgrade Sky at sometime to Sky Q but I'm not convinced yet.

What should I look out for?

Ok - so i realise its a bit of a 'it depends' type question so...

I've realised I need WiFi connectivity - we moved the living room around recently and wired connections to the router are a pain.

I've found this one ... https://ao.com/product/ue40nu7120-samsung-nu7000-t...

its super duper 4k UHD or something - I probably don't really need that but it sounds good. It has WiFi.

It also has Amazon Instant video inbuilt - is that the same as amazon prime video? I cant find any reference to instant video on amazon itself.

not sure I need much else but I'm just not sure - am I missing anything with that samsung above?

Thanks for the response, glad I'm not missing something obvious.

I was slightly confused when I opened the richer sounds link as it showed £399 (which was the same as AO) although I now realise AO have increased the price to £419. Its actually even cheaper via Amazon but I get the point about the Richer Sounds warranty - thanks

I also understand the point about size and realise that most people have 55" plus but we simply have always had smaller tvs (I think the one on the wall in the bedroom is only 19")

So, the move from 32" to 40" will feel huge and in our little front room will be plenty (and mean we are not immediately placed in the council thread for an hugely oversized telly hehe) - we will look to something bigger when we have the space hopefully.

OP, how far from the tv screen will you be sitting?
I had to check last night but there is a range of distances depending upon which chair.

The furthest seat is ~ 3m away, the closest ~1.5m away (although this one is on the angle to the side)

I guess the main seats are around 2m - 2.5m away.
