As per the title really.

My CD player LCD is very dull. The photo below gives an indicator, but it doesn't look as bright to the eye. It should look the same as the AV processor above it.
I recall a Wheeler Dealers where they had a dash LCD repaired, so guess there are companies who do it?

Any pointers from anyone who's had it Done? It's a Tag Mclaren CD player in case that matters.

Ah yes, that shall be the one. I'll do a bit of research, thanks for the pointers.

I'll ask that of my preferred hi-fi dealer, who used to sell TM. I did double check that on the (very complex!) remote, but couldn't see anything. Cheers.

This again. The LED has now completely died. As TM are no longer around does anyone have any idea if replacements could still be found, or could there be another workaround, EG a repair, or an LED from another brand to replace?

I can sense sorting this will be a mare. The only other option I can think of is to replace the CD player with another of the same model, and keep this one for spares.

Depending on where you are.

Tring TV in Tring Herts are great electronic service and repair guys. We use them quite a lot to look at clients electronics that have died, but are worth repairing.

Can't harm to try them, any option needed now. Called the group who own AudioLab in Huntingdon, they've stopped support Tag. Need to call a guy there back to see if anything AudioLab could fit etc.

While browsing Ebay earlier, I found this - not sure if it's any use to you.

Brilliant, thanks ever so much. I'm pretty sure that will fix it (mine is a mentioned CD20R)

I was close to buying another and use mine for spares, having searched the bay, spoken with Audiolab, and even some LED companies in the USA!

Thanks again, purchased.

Good luck with the repair.

It does say user installable, so let's hope a nice easy job. Sods law though, I've just gone to put some music on, and it seems like one of the mono block amps has stopped working furious
