My mum, in her sixties, is ready for a new tv. She’s had a Sony led/lcd thing for quite a long time (at least 10-15 years) which I’ve always felt was less than impressive. The main input is from an ageing humax freesat box.

Now, she’s decided it’s time for a new one. She’s got standard broadband, not fibre. When we visit, they never seem to know quite how it’s working. Never sure which input it’s working from, always fighting with the volume from whichever input it was last on.

I’m actually happy to recommend most of what’s included. I’m not instantly in love with most of Samsung’s output, but even I have to admit, I like the look of their offering.

For someone not really into tech and TVs, but looking for the best they can buy, what should we be looking for? Best in the bunch name din the article above, or any others considered.
