I fancy setting up a amp and speakers to start in my office then maybe a record deck

I have preference for something vintage (not really vintage 70's 80's) purely for assthetics really dont want to spend a huge amount so maybe £100 ish on a amp. Is there anything I should stay clear of ?

Seen a nice looking akai early 80's receiver and some rotel rx-102/104

Any pointers I'm aware they may need re capping and contact cleaning and other such things

Ive managed to find a b&o setup locally to me actually is it worth it
Beomaster 1900-2
Beogram 1700
Beochord 1900
And a pair of beovox s40

I know b&o is style over substance really

Assuming it's working, you've bagged a bargain thumbup
Even if it's not 100% looks like I could part it out for alot more

You will regret saying that wink

Yes foam surrounds are both very very gone, I refoamed a woofer in a ls430 once so can't be much different

The tuner doesn't seem to work either

The music is eclectic as I bought pretty much the cheapest things I could find

So on vinyl we have Hank Williams Jr wild streak
And cassette colour me badd I wanna sex you up

Eclectic but seeing as no charity shops are open I had no choice

Update the cassette deck doesn't power on so new fuses ordered and a multimeter

The deck powers on but I've found the toothed belt that controls the fine speed adjustment is toast anyone know where I could get one ?

Hi the deck is actually a 1600 type 5713

The stylus seems to have a tip on it still but it's filthy so it should actually be ok

Can you confirm the deck part number? You said it is a Beogram 1700 but that’s not what’s in your picture and I can’t quite make the part number out.

Regardless, any B&O spares you need can be obtained from a chap called Martin in Denmark here: https://www.beoparts-shop.com/

He knows everything there is to know about B&O and is very helpful.

And I will reply to your email as soon as I can - been a busy day!
Seems the belt isn't replaceable frown but it doesn't control the speed and isn't needed! So that's good

Anyone have any suggestions for a damping grease that isn't like £70 or maybe 2 month wait from China?
It's for the flap on the amp since I cleaned it all up there isn't any stiction any more to damp it's closing

Another update the record deck works. It spins the arm moves and now I have an LP sound comes out!

But only out of the tweeter in one speaker smile

I've also ordered a recap kit for the amp new speaker output switch and power switch for the tape deck as that moved when I bypassed the switch

Do all in all its gone ok but will see how I cope re capping it 70+ items to replace frown

An update on mine the speaker foam kit has spent 5 days traveling around Miami and still hadn't left the country the USPS really does suck! Also I've taken apart the crossover in o e of the speakers to get the values to order new bits so fingers crossedsmile
