What hard drive for Sony tv please

Hi. Just fitted a new telly..Sony KD65..wall mounted..I want to record and looking through menus it looks as simple as connecting a portable hard drive via usb connection and recording on it. Can it be that easy? and if so can anyone recommend something around 1tb that works well with my tv? Thanks in advance. Ian

Hi. Just a word of thanks to above..bought a Samsung 1tb hard drive and after a bit of a faff ( I plugged the usb into wrong connection ..needed to be in the blue one that was hidden in a pocket on back of tv) all working well now. Great advice from pistonheaders…
